How To Use Your Fitbit To KICKASS!

Sharing is caring!

Recently, I bit the bullet and bought myself a FitBit.

This is a big deal for me.

If you know me or follow me on Instagram, you’d know that I hate fitness and exercising. Actually, I don’t just hate it, I despise it.

I would rather sit outside with a big glass of pink gin and a good book than get all sweaty.

But alas, my friends and family convinced me to buy myself a Fitbit and although I was skeptical, I ordered one.

And HOLY SHIT.

From couch potato to fitness lover, my Fitbit has changed my life and the way I exercise.

My motivation to exercise has doubled, no TRIPLED thanks to this handy little device wrapped around my wrist.

As someone who struggles to find the motivation to exercise, I’ve definitely benefited from my easy to use technical fitness buddy.

So, if you’ve been on the fence about buying a Fitbit, let me show you how this little device will encourage you to exercise and become fit and healthy.

Setting Milestones

Fitbits are designed to record the number of steps and distance you have traveled while doing your day to day activities.

Because every step you take is recorded, you can set daily targets.

It’s recommended that we do 10,000 steps a day which is much more achievable than you think!

Setting yourself daily targets will encourage you to get out and walk, run or even go for a swim!

Tip: Reward yourself when you reach your daily target for an extra endorphin boost!

Competing With Friends

Through the FitBit app, you can connect with friends who also have a Fitbit.

You can share your progress with friends and track theirs in the community section of the app. When your friends achieve their daily goals, you can cheer them on.

If you’re a competitive person like me, tracking your friends daily steps will encourage you to step up your game.

As they exercise more, you will feel encouraged to compete and out-do them.

Discover Workouts

Within the discovery section of your Fitbit App, you can find a selection of workouts to follow, challenges, and adventures.

With workout videos ranging from 10 minutes to 45 minutes, you’re sure to increase your daily activity.

I used to hate working out and I found fitness videos difficult to keep up with. Fitbit workouts are completely different. The videos are labeled with difficulty ratings so you know exactly what you’re getting into before starting working out. So far, as a fitness newbie, I’ve been able to go from easy workouts to medium workouts.

If you’re not a fan of workout videos and you simply want to build up your daily step count, there’s some great adventure races for you.

Using the Fitbit app, you can virtually race against your friends along real-life trails like the Pohono Trail or explore the real-life locations yourself through your daily step count.

When you start one of these trails, your Fitbit will encourage you to walk and build up your steps throughout the day.

Even if you’re out and about without your phone, your Fitbit will vibrate and let you know how many steps you have left to do that hour. These small reminders are a great encouragement to keep moving.

Which Fitbit is best for beginners?

Not all Fitbits were created equal and some have more features than others. However, if you’re looking to buy your first Fitbit, I recommend purchasing the Fitbit Inspire.

The Fitbit Inspire is easy to use and can access all of the amazing features I listed above. It also has the added benefit of tracking your sleep. With excellent 5-day battery life and water-resistant technology, it is the Fitbit for beginners with a reasonable price of only £69.

This handy list will help you choose the Fitbit that is right for you based on the features available.

Final Note

If you’re wanting to start exercising and tracking your fitness, I highly recommend ordering a Fitbit Inspire. This handy little device will change the way you exercise.
